Beyond Excel: Turning Data Into Decisions

Let's be honest! Excel has been the backbone of business for decades. Almost every organization, from small businesses to large institutions, has relied on spreadsheets to track information, generate reports, and make decisions. But as data grows, so do the challenges. Multiple versions of the same file, hours spent cleaning data, manual reporting, limited visualization options, minimal automation powers compared, and the constant struggle to turn numbers into meaningful insights can quickly become overwhelming.

This idea recently came to life through a project completed by Niota Labs LLC in partnership with Endsight Consulting. We transformed a Country Performance Indicators (CPI) dataset from a collection of spreadsheets into an interactive

analytics platform designed to help users evaluate investment opportunities across emerging markets. By bringing together indicators related to governance, corruption risk, economic performance, infrastructure, and investment readiness, the platform makes it easier to compare countries, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making. While the initial focus is Africa, the concept is globally applicable.
